“Hike it, Bike It, Like it. Drimnagh” Energy Globe National Winner 2016
We're so thrilled to have been part of the winning team for Ireland with our client Dublin City Council, Bosco Youth Centre and Drimnagh Community Forum, in the Energy Globe 2016 international awards. Eve-Anne our Director was delighted to be at the Austrian Embassy to receive the National Award with our client partners and the inspirational young people from the Bosco Youth Centre. The Energy Globe Award was founded in 1999 and is one of today’s most prestigious environmental awards.

The “Hike It, Bike It, Like it. Drimnagh” initiative was about enabling children, as agents of change, in motivating their own community to live life more sustainably, and we are delighted to see this project recognised by an international jury. MCO really enjoyed working with everyone to make it happen.

Here’s a snapshot of what the jury of the Energy Globe Award said about our project: “Traffic is one of the main reasons for environmental pollution, emissions and noise. This year's National Winner of the Energy Globe Award in Ireland began as a national Smarter Travel initiative but became about community empowerment, health, society, local economy and sustainable living. People are now walking, cycling, using public transport more, and driving less. Congratulations to your initiative!”

More than 1,500 projects from 177 countries were submitted to the Energy Globe Award this year making it the largest and most important environmental prize. The purpose of the Award is to present successful sustainable projects to a broad audience and help to spread the successful and feasible solutions to environmental challenges that already exist.
