Design + Project Management

Our clients are civic leaders and entrepreneurs in public, private and community sectors. They share a need for innovation and creativity. We help unlock potential new opportunities for our clients through designing and delivering projects.

How We Can Help You

Facilitating Engagement and Collaboration Facilitating Engagement and Collaboration
We believe finding a common purpose through mapping our clients’ stakeholders and pooling resources across sectors creates value in the longer term. Our stakeholder engagement process has enabled real outcomes whether in Smarter Travel in Drimnagh, the Lean Six Sigma Mater Hospital Programme, within Sustainable Energy Communities around Ireland, or the Creative Sligo Partnership. We enable people to work better together in the delivery of all of our projects.
Designing and Managing Infrastructure Projects Designing and Managing Infrastructure Projects
Project management is a key part of our track record. Projects like Ireland’s first sustainable sports park Fr Collins Park, independent living Great North Haven and the Mater Campus Hospital Development, add to earlier clusters in enterprise at The Digital Hub and Temple Bar Regeneration. A diverse portfolio that demonstrates our commitment to innovation and delivering value across social, cultural, environmental and economic contexts.
Place-making and Cluster Development Place-making and Cluster Development
Our cultural planning process investigates the authentic, cultural assets and resources of a place to unlock potential for new ideas and sustainable development opportunities. No one project is typical, our work informs creative development strategies. For example, the cultural tourism development for Merrion Square Innovation Network, Reimagining the Royal Canal collaborative planning process, and Greenfort Cultural Development Plan in Sligo.
Workshops, Mentoring and Training Workshops, Mentoring and Training
Thinking differently about the resources we have and how we can better use them is core to our service design. Collaborative planning workshops and training courses are rooted in our practical insights from the delivery of projects. We specialise in Lean six sigma, project management and cultural planning toolkits. We help our clients identify opportunities for change, whether applying the Fundamentals of Lean or innovation in the Institute of Directors Building Better Business training course (PDF).
Curation, Programming and Branding Curation, Programming and Branding
We devise concepts and curate programmes to animate places and enhance their distinctive identities. We implement communications strategies engaging our networks in arts, culture, design, food and heritage, and across diverse sectors. For example, Hike It Bike It Like It programme with schoolchildren engaged the wider local community through design, and enhancing cultural tourism development with the Merrion Square Innovation Network engaged cultural institutes, heritage, businesses, and business stakeholders.
Strategy, Broker Partnerships and Funding Mechanisms Strategy, Broker Partnerships and Funding Mechanisms
We prepare strategic plans and broker cross-sectoral collaboration for clients. Working with diverse stakeholders we develop a shared vision and prepare implementation plans. We also mentor or project manage delivery, often through sourcing funding partners and securing finance. For example the winning EC bid 4CNW is a European Creative Industries Alliance project, and Trinity Supporting Creative Innovators is informing a new model of academic-public-private-creative collaboration.

Our Approach

We use methodologies and toolkits such as Service Design, Design Thinking and LEAN, or our own bespoke 4D Cultural Planning Process, to help our clients problem-solve. We apply the best toolkit and methodology for the right project at the right time.
